The University of Oklahoma invites applications and nominations for the John & Donnie Brock Chair in Energy Economics and Policy. The successful candidate will provide leadership in the area of Energy Economics and Policy in the University of Oklahoma’s Sarkeys Energy Center, and maintain a close working relationship with the Price College of Business.
Candidates should hold a doctorate or have the equivalent experience in an appropriate area such as science, engineering, economics or a closely related field, and have significant academic or industrial experience in areas such as energy exploitation and development economics, profitability and risk analysis, project engineering and management. Quality teaching, nurturing and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students are necessary roles for the Chair holder, who nominally teach two classes per academic year in selected disciplines related to energy, economics and policy. The successful candidate will also be expected to establish, wherever appropriate, collaborative education and research efforts with other University academic faculty and research staff.
Scholarship and research ability as well as administrative and leadership skills and prior experience in the oil and gas industry are highly desirable. Interacting with leaders in business and government to develop an externally funded research program and to contribute to the debate on national/international energy policy issues are essential elements of the position. Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with experience and anticipated potential.
