 The Peaks

View of the Peaks

The Peaks; Mount Actaeon (to the left) and Cuckold's Point (to the right) each have a single Norfolk Island pine. Diana's Peak is between the two and, although not obvious from this view, is the highest point on the island at 820 m (2,690 ft.). [Note that there remains some controversy over which peak has which name!]

The area of the Peaks is one of the remaining strongholds of St. Helena's endemic vegetation although in the past there was clearance for the planting of flax and Cinchona.
