Plantation House

Plantation House (built in 1792) is the residence of the Governor of St. Helena.

Jonathan is the oldest of a number of Seychelles tortoises that live in the grounds of Plantation House. Myth has it that Jonathan was on St. Helena during Napoleon's exile but the (less romantic) reality is that he was brought to the Island later.
