MCEE UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS
Due to the generous support of alumni, friends and industry, there are significant scholarships available to Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy students.
Applications for 2008 must be received by March 1, 2008 for consideration. Please retain a copy for your records.
MCEE SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Scholarship applicants must be CURRENTLY admitted into the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy (MCEE).
Transfer applicants must be admitted into the MCEE and have completed at least 12 hours at OU.
Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours or more).
Selection Criteria for MCEE scholarships are usually specified by the donor and may include, but are not limited to:
- A minimum grade point average
- A specific field of study within the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy
- Statement of campus involvement and leadership ability, internships, career ambition, future goals, honors and other achievements
- If a scholarship is need-based, demonstrated financial need, as determined by the Office of Financial Aid will be verified. (Financial need will be verified by the Office of Financial Aid before the MCEE Scholarship Committee finalizes its selection.)
DEPARTMENTAL SCHOLARSHIPS
In addition to MCEE Scholarships, the ConocoPhillips School of Geology & Geophysics and the Mewbourne School of Petroleum and Geological Engineering offer many scholarships. You may contact the schools directly for application information:
OU SCHOLARSHIPS
Students entering the University of Oklahoma are eligible to apply for any of the general scholarships awarded by the University Scholarship Committee. General scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement and financial need. You may find out more about these scholarships at http://scholarships.ou.edu/
In addition, students may qualify for in-state tuition waiver awards such as the Scholars Program, President's Leadership Class and President's Community Scholars.
Deadlines for these programs vary. Most of the University's scholarship or tuition waiver programs have a postmark deadline of February 1. For a listing of departmental and general University scholarship, you may view A guide to Scholarships and Financial Aid, or contact:
